The average attendance at each meeting was 90 members and 3 guests. Our Engagement Ratio for the month was 57% (up 10% from last month). We had no new members and no terminations for the month of August. Our membership remained the same as July but our engagement for the month was much higher.
Our club’s financial highlights include Foundation total assets of $2,772,898 and Club operating cash balance of $89,669. This includes the prepaid dues for FY’23-’24 of about $70,000.
There are so many positives to report about this year’s GPO! We were up 40% up in golf attendees, up 40% in dinner attendees, offered Pickleball for the first time, and received record revenues from the Auction. Net revenue as of this writing may very well be our second-highest revenue in the history of the GPO (formerly GTO). Expenses are still coming in.
The board continues to review the hybrid meeting format and how to proceed. Rob Shiff and Linda Kentes discussed several options with the board – including options that have not yet been tested. A motion was made to continue to fund the hybrid meetings through October while several new scenarios are tested out. For instance, for the September 20th meeting the team used Patrick Murphy’s equipment rather than the U-M equipment. Pat is offering his equipment at half the price of U-M and promised a better experience for the viewers. A streaming-only option will be offered for the September 27th meeting. This is the least expensive option under consideration.
Send Hunger Packing is scheduled for October 28th with a goal to raise $10,500 and recruit 200 volunteers. As of September 20th, there were pledges in for $7,500 towards the goal. Additional details and information on how to register can be found here: https://www.a2rotary.org/sendhungerpacking/
