THANK YOU, ROTARIANS! Participation in the EAG Recycling Project was huge. We recycled 35 pounds of batteries and about 45 printer cartridges, ranging from large laser-printer cartridges to tiny inkjet ones. Bags? OMG. We had 13 grocery bags of plastic single use bags and two garbage bags of bag.
The staff at Recycle Ann Arbor’s Drop-Off station at 2950 E Ellsworth Rd was very easy to work with. They take many types of plastic. They said to put hard plastics, irrespective of number, in the large bins for sorting in the recycling stream. Soft plastics – mainly the single use shopping bags – were taken separately.
We also dropped off one compact fluorescent bulb donated by our president. Perhaps a target for our next recyclables collection!
All-in-all, a seamless and easy operation. So do not be discouraged from going to the recycling center yourself with your own “stuff”. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!
