Barb Mulay is an avid University of Michigan sports fan. She sits behind the Michigan goal at hockey games and has received calls from around the country from friends and family who have spotted her on the Big 10 TV station wearing her Maize and Blue. Hockey is not her only love; she also has football and basketball season tickets. In her spare time she loves to play tennis and golf and is a regular at the gym going to spinning and yoga classes. Barb also loves attending musical theater shows and symphony orchestra concerts. She often goes to UMS and School of Music, theater and Dance performances.
Professionally, Barb’s passion is in the field of training and organizational development (OD) consulting. She has a BS in business and education and a master’s degree in education, all from the University of Maryland. Before moving to Ann Arbor, she worked on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, was the Training Manager at Honeywell in Northern Virginia and lived and worked in Palo Alto, California.
Barb moved to Michigan in 1995 with her family and has worked at the UM for over 20 years. She was an OD consultant for 13 years and is currently the Work Life Resource Center Manager, providing resources to university faculty, staff and students that help support their lives outside of work so they can focus on their tasks at hand, She also organizes an annual conference for 300 UM staff each year that focuses on work-life integration topics.
Barb is looking forward to being a member of Rotary and plans to volunteer with the annual Golf and Tennis Outing event.
