Summary of the Board of Directors Meeting
January 16, 2019

The Board of Directors’ Meeting was held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the United Way Building.

The Club’s membership on December 31 was 286 Active members, plus six Honorary members and nine Inactive Emeriti. Attendance for the month’s three meetings was 34%. Average attendance at each meeting was 98 members plus 15 others. Our engagement ratio for the month was 54%. Rotarian for 61 years Art Holst passed away on December 19. On December 31, the Operating Fund Balance was $73,741.25. The Club’s Endowment Investment market value was $1,880,058.53.

Executive Director Lori reported that five members of our Club attended the District Membership Seminar in Lansing on January 5. The transition to ClubRunner is being completed by John White and that should be up and functioning soon. Once ClubRunner has been instituted, each member will have their own login to access directory and club information. Tax letters are on track to be mailed out in January.

Centennial Chair Chuck reported that the committee has met to discuss educational signage at the Universal Access Playground. It is recommended that the playground signage be consistent with the current signage by focusing on the three areas within the playground (prairie, wetlands and uplands) as well as the river, birds and fish that exist around the playground. Another idea is to consider storyboards that tell the story of the entire Huron river from the headwaters to Lake Erie.
