Week Two of the Pandemic Response Fund

Now is the time to make your donation to the Pandemic Response Fund! The Disaster Relief Committee has already committed $6000.

Our total as of Sunday, May 17 is $47,000! We need just $3,000 to reach our match goal of $50,000. Then, all donations will be matched dollar for dollar!

RCAA  $  75,000 + $25,000 match = $100,00     OR EVEN BETTER

RCAA  $100,000+ $50,000 match =  $ 150,000

 

Pandemic Response Fund Disbursement:

The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County at the Delonis Center had no thermometers to check for fever. Their order was backlogged and never shipped. The Disaster Relief Committee has delivered two non-contact thermometers this week and will provide three more next week. Your donations are making it possible to meet the needs of our community!

Corporate Match: You may be able to increase your gift through a company’s matching gift program.  If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift.  Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Important Update on 2020 Charitable Giving: The CARES Act — the major coronavirus response and relief bill passed by Congress — raises maximum charitable deductions for individuals and businesses for 2020.

  • Individuals who take the standard deduction are now also eligible for a charitable deduction of up to $300 in cash gifts.
  • Individuals who itemize on their taxes are now limited to 100% of their gross income (previously 60%); Corporations are now limited to 25% (previously 10%).

Please consult your tax advisor to determine if your gift is tax-deductible under the new rules.
