Last November, an energetic group of Ann Arbor Rotarians volunteered at the Girls on the Run 5K Event. We had a fantastic time helping the girls and their families have a great time!
There are two upcoming opportunities for us to volunteer at this fantastic organization. At both events chairs will be available for our volunteers and there will be no hard labor (unless you want to do clean-up/tear-down shifts). If you’re interested in one or both of these events, contact Lauren Heinonen as soon as possible! Based on interest and availability, we can either choose one shift at each event to volunteer together at, or split up over multiple shifts.
Coach Summit
Saturday, February 29th
St. Joseph Mercy Health System, Ypsilanti
Interested in assisting Girls on the Run staff support over 200 volunteer coaches? Volunteer at the Coach Summit, our annual training designed to support new and returning Girls on the Run coaches for the upcoming season. Volunteer responsibilities include event check-in/check-out, coach box delivery, and more!
Volunteering will be inside,
6:30 – 8am: coach check-in (10 volunteers needed)
10-11am: materials pick up (8 volunteers needed)
12-1:30pm: coach check-in (6 volunteers needed)
3:30-6:30pm: materials pick-up/clean-up (6-8 volunteers needed)
Girls on the Run Spring 2020 5K
Sunday, May 17th
Washtenaw Community College campus, Ann Arbor
6am-2pm in approximately 3-hour shifts (see below for exact shift times by area)
Volunteers needed for teardown, registration, water stations, course marshals, etc. (150+ volunteers)
Volunteering will be outside and under tent(s) with chairs provided. We did a great job running the Celebration Expo in the fall, and we are primarily looking for volunteers to run the same activities again in at this spring event!
