• VA Fisher House Ann Arbor has closed temporarily and has re-purposed the house to accommodate critical hospital staff during the current Coronavirus crisis. Fisher House Foundation fully supports this decision. We expect the Fisher House at VA Ann Arbor will open in the coming weeks, and it may be used for this purpose at that time. With your help, Fisher House Michigan is standing by to support this house’s temporary mission.

Fisher House Michigan will coordinate delivery of the following gifts and supplies you donate for the VA Ann Arbor and VA Detroit Medical Centers:

• Visa gift cards or grocery gift cards for FH staff to purchase food for hospital staff staying in a Fisher House. Note: Any unused gift cards will be used to support FH families in the future when circumstances allow the doors of the VA Ann Arbor Fisher House to re-open for military and Veteran families and caregivers.
• As always, if you are in a position to help, we appreciate your cash gifts (via check or online donation) to continue our mission of supporting our Michigan heroes, their families, and caregivers.  Checks may be made payable to Fisher House Michigan and sent to Fisher House Michigan,  3250 Plymouth Rd., #103 Ann Arbor, MI  48105.  Please note on the memo line – Food for VA hospital staff.

Hire MI Vet

The Coronavirus crisis has caused many employers to lay-off large numbers of veterans.

Veterans are searching for new employment opportunities in our communities and at the same time trying to file for unemployment benefits.  Food is a big concern for veterans with families.

To help veterans in their search Hire MI Vet created a new Website page providing Healthcare information, Food Sources, Unemployment sources, Employment sources – JOBS  and Quality of Life information.  You will find the new page on http://hiremivet.org.
