Sunday, June 12th: “Music at the Playground” Celebration for Universal Access Playground’s 5th Birthday at Gallup Park

On Sunday, June 12th from 1:00pm – 3:30pm our Rotary Club and the City of Ann Arbor are co-hosting “Music in the Playground” as a 5th Birthday Party for the Universal Access Playground at Gallup park, which was our Club’s Centennial gift to the community. Community High’s Jazz Band will perform at 1:00 and the event will conclude with a rousing performance by Los Gatos, a local favorite for Latin and Creole Jazz! Ice cream treats from Washtenaw Dairy and delicious Absopure water will keep you as cool as the music!
June 12 Time Schedule

1:00 – 2:00pm Community High School Jazz Band

2:00 – 2:30pm VIP Speakers

2:30 – 3:45pm Los Gatos

4:00pm Approximate conclusion of event.

Volunteer List:

  • Main Tent – Pass out ice cream, stickers, supervise water cooler.

Shift 1  1:00 – 2:00pm 2 volunteers needed.

Shift 2  2:00 – 3:00pm 2 volunteers needed.

Shift 3  3:00 – 4:00pm 2 volunteers needed.

  • Clean Up – Light duty stacking chairs, 2 tables, trash pickup.

Shift 1  3:30 – 4:30pm 2 volunteers needed.

  • Rotary Floaters – Circulate in the park as emissaries of Rotary. Help where needed.

Shift 1  1:00 – 2:00pm 1-2 volunteers needed.

Shift 2  2:00 – 3:00pm 1-2 volunteers needed.

Shift 3  3:00 – 4:00pm 1-2 volunteers needed.

  • Parks Department Staff/Volunteers

        4 individuals will be on-site for the event.
