Thanks to the generosity of our membership, the Ukrainian Relief fundraiser challenge  to raise another $3,000 which was brought forth by the International Humanitarian Projects Committee (IHPC), Dan Lewan, co-chair, just last week was met in two days. At the meeting announcing the challenge dedicated members Norma and Ashish Sarkar offered up a generous contribution to jump start the challenge response. The most recent total of what members of RCAA have raised, along with the initial contribution of $1,000 by IHPC is over $6,000. Contributions are welcome through at least April 30 through Rotary International.

The board discussed new venues for our weekly meetings and determined that while we have a pretty good deal at the Union, we will still work on finding a new location to save on costs. Our costs are lower than the time spent at Weber’s but our per capita cost is high due to the low turnout of in-person members. Other clubs are meeting in churches and libraries to help limit the cost of meetings. Contact John Sepp and/or Marsha Chamberlin if you have ideas about a new weekly meeting venue for RCAA.

The Universal Access Playground Birthday Celebration at Gallup Park Event is scheduled for Sunday, June 12 (1-4pm) and the committee will need a lot of volunteers. Parking will be difficult because June is a busy time of year for Gallup Park. All Rotarians are encouraged to wear their Rotary t-shirts at the event.
