Club membership as of December 31, 2021 was 243 Active members. Attendance for the month’s three meetings was 31%. Average attendance at each meeting was 78 members and 11 guests. Average In-person attendance was 34 compared to the average Zoom attendance of 51. Discussion for the board included seven member terminations/changes in status (Sujit Pandit, Dan Stewart, Jennifer Schwartz, Emily Plumley, Brian McLaughlin, Judith Vindici, John Henkel) and five new member nominations: Ray Kelley, Tori Price, Susan Shink, Larry Marentette and Anne Andrus. It was unanimously approved to include all new members. Four of the five nominees were brought forward by Collyer Smith. Our Club Outreach Director, Norma Sarkar, is challenging all members to try to beat that number!
The Operating Fund Balance on December 31 was $77,230. The Club’s Endowment Investment market value was $3,000,752, a 2% increase from the previous month.
The board discussed the current meeting format given the impact of the Omicron variant throughout the area. In addition to those concerns, the cost per meeting is getting close to $700 to use the Anderson room (with the added expense for the new hybrid approach). While we miss having our in-person meetings, the board moved to stay on Zoom for weekly meetings through February. We will revisit the format of our March meetings at the February board meeting.
A discussion was held regarding where to allocate the surplus funds from our successful GTO event. Food Gatherers/Food Drive and VITA are both requesting additional funds. The Peace Conference could also be a consideration for support. Community Allocations will find ways to disperse additional funds. Additional ideas will be brought forward and voting/decisions will occur during our February board meeting.
Applications are slowly coming in for the new Admin/Financial administrator position. The search committee is holding regular meetings to review and discuss interviews. Lori is looking forward to working with her successor to ensure a smooth transition. She plans to continue to work closely with this person as a Club member once the transition has been completed.
