The Board of Director’s Meeting was held on Wednesday, August 19 via Zoom. Club membership on July 31 was 262 Active members, plus six Honorary members and eight Inactive Emeriti. Attendance for the month’s five meetings was 34%. Average attendance at each meeting was 90 members plus nine others. Our Engagement Ratio for the month was 53%. The Board accepted, with regret, the resignations of Toni Gupta, Nancy Harrison, Joan Knoertzer, and Doug Selby. The Membership Committee presented the nomination of Elaine Besh as a New Member Elect. Her nomination was enthusiastically approved by the Board.
The Operating Fund Balance on July 31 was $52,847. The Club’s Endowment Investment market value was $2,308,194, a 4% increase from June 30.
The Mid-Summer Italian Festival held on August 17 was a resounding success with 88 tickets sold for the talk and 83 dinners sold. The preliminary estimate for net proceeds is $14,000. Thank you to Mike Roddy of Paesano Restaurant and Wine Bar and Chaad Thomas of Eagle Eye Imports for the most interesting and very engaging presentation of the five wines that were available for purchase.
Club Outreach announced that John White has been appointed as District 6380 Regional Lead for the Western Region. Aleia MacDonald has agreed to serve as Membership Chair. She is already busy recruiting committee members to take on tasks which will increase the committee productivity. Marcia Lane will be chairing the newly created ARC and has stepped down as chair of the Peace Committee. All five District Grants the RCAA applied for were approved: three for the International Humanitarian Project Committee; one for Community Allocations Committee project and one for Veterans Initiative.
