Abbey Edwards, UM Rotaract President 2018-19, is a little over a month into her 27-month journey with the Peace Corps in Peru, and she reached out to share a recent experience she had there with Rotary. They had a panel of community stakeholders visit the training center to talk about their jobs, especially in the areas of health, education, and social development programs. To Abbey’s surprise, a Rotary member from the club in Lima showed up and welcomed her with open arms after she told him about her connections with Rotary back home. She wrote, “It was a great interaction that reminded me the presence of Rotary and the wonderful people who are a part of it all around the world.” Attached is a picture of Abbey (far right) and a few other volunteers, along with Rotarian Vidal from the Lima Club.
