Fisher House – A Home away from Home for Veterans’ Families

The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor was invited to attend the Fisher House Dedication Ceremony and asked to participate in the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, September 23, 2022. The Dedication included an address by Debbie Dingell and there were approximately 125 people in attendance. Ashish Sarkar represented our club and did the honors along with about 20 other ribbon-cutters including our own Karen Kerry and Brad Chick who are Board Members of the Fisher House Michigan. Fisher House was dedicated to U.S. servicemen, servicewomen, and their loved ones on September 23. Since its 2020 opening, the free facility has housed more than 6,000 guests as their military family members or veterans undergo treatment at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Veterans served our country and in return, Fisher House is our way to say “Thank You for your Service.”

The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor was instrumental in organizing the project, raising funds and facilitating the creation of Fisher House Michigan as a 501-C3 non-profit. There is a donor plaque in the front lobby of Fisher House and Rotary Club of Ann Arbor is honored for its $100,000 donation.

This is another shining example of RCAA supporting important causes in our community!!!
