Crain’s Detroit Business reports that Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed Ann Arbor Rotarian Omari Rush to chair the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. The 15-member council, appointed by the governor and housed within the Michigan Economic Development Corp., is charged with granting the state arts funding each year to arts and cultural groups around the state. Omari is now Executive Director of CultureSource, a Detroit-based member association for nonprofit arts and cultural organizations serving Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe and St. Clair counties.
