Help Ypsilanti Rotary End Youth Homelessness in Washtenaw County

Homelessness significantly impacts the learning ability of public school children. Surprisingly, we had 361 such students in Washtenaw County during the 2019-2020 school year, 129 of which were identified in Ann Arbor Public Schools.
To help combat this problem, the Ypsilanti Rotary Club invites you and the “People of Action” in the Ann Arbor Rotary Club to join us for Dine and Donate next week during Homeless Student Count Week. By dining at a fine local restaurant,20-25% of your bill will be donated to the Washtenaw Intermediate School District’s Education Project for Homeless Youth (EPHY)!
Please see the flyer below for details on dates and participating Ypsilanti restaurants! Enhance the fun and grow the funds by inviting friends and family to eat out with you and by sharing this flyer. We hope to see you there!

Homelessness, as defined by the federal “McKinney Vento Act,” includes young people who are living in situations that are not considered to be fixed, regular, or adequate. This may include staying in shelters, motels, cars, and abandoned houses, as well as living doubled-up temporarily with friends or family.

The Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) is working to assist Washtenaw County’s nine school districts and 12 public school academies in eliminating educational barriers for students experiencing homelessness through its grant-funded program: The Education Project for Homeless Youth (EPHY).
