James E. Brown arrived in late August 2021 as a Global Grant Scholar sponsored by the Tameside Rotary Club, District 1285 in UK. RCAA was the host club for this global grant. James thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to pursue his Master of Law (LLM) degree at the University of Michigan Law School. He completed his Bachelor of Law in England. James grew up in Denton, Greater Manchester, UK.

James is most interested in Human Rights and Refugee Affairs. He was impressed with the many international scholars that taught classes at the U of M Law School. Ashish and Norma Sarkar had the pleasure of getting to know James throughout the year and were very pleased to attend the Law School Graduation on Friday, May 6 at Hill Auditorium.

James has been offered an internship with the United Nations in Geneva this summer. In Fall 2022, he will pursue a post graduate program at the London School of Economics.

It was our pleasure to spend time with James over this past school year and see firsthand the excellent opportunities provided by the Rotary International Global Grant Program. James is a fine young man with a bright future ahead of him. Let us join in wishing him well.
