Last week our District Governor, Sparky Leonard (The guy with the Polio Plus mobile) shared some data that he received from Kevin Kelly, Rotary Major Gifts Officer:
District 6380 has raised $163,837 for the year for Polio Plus. (The annual average since 2012 is $73K. So, we more than doubled the average.) There are 54 clubs in District 6380. Through its initiatives Rotary Club of Ann Arbor gave $28,416, about 17% of the District total. (RCAA’s total includes several donations from other local Rotary Clubs at RCAA’s Polio Plus event.)
Of the 20 Districts that Kelly works with in our region (in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and southwest Ontario) District 6380’s total giving to Polio Plus is the highest. In fact, District 6380 is the highest giver in Zones 28 and 32, which is all of Michigan, Canada, and the Northeast (New York, New England, etc.).
Things may change before the end of the Rotary Year, June 30, but presently District 6380 is the 15thhighest Polio Plus giving district in the world.
Sparky’s words to us:
“Congratulations and thank you to all members who have contributed to this year’s Polio Plus campaign, your generosity has drawn great awareness to our District around the Rotary World.”
