Join the Rotary Road Waste Warriors for the club’s spring highway trash pickup scheduled for Saturday, April 22. Participants in groups of four will be assigned to less than a city block in length, on one side of the highway (I-94 between State and Platt), to help pitch-in against the never-ending battle to eliminate highway blight. All while driving home the club’s public image of an organization whose motto is “Service Above Self.”
You read it right, participants walk less than a city block to help the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor collect positive images about its impact in the community.
The time commitment Saturday, April 22, is from 9:00-11:30am with about an hour and fifteen minutes on the highway. Anyone can participate but children must be at least 12 years of age and come with adequate adult supervision.
We will meet at The Kensington Hotel, 3500 S. State St. to launch at the start, and lunch at the end with a complimentary box lunch and Rotarian socializing. Bring work gloves, sturdy boots or shoes, and a folding chair or stool for the box lunch and social event. We will provide safety vests and trash bags.
Sign up by emailing Leo Shedden and Ed Johnson at adoptahighway@a2rotary.org!
Final details will be sent to you via email.
