Ann Arbor Citizens Academy is Returning in 2020

A Public Service Announcement

The Ann Arbor Citizens Academy (A2CA) is returning for a third year in 2020 to provide a broad view of local government for Ann Arbor residents. During a series of nine weekly sessions, from Wednesday, Jan. 22 to Wednesday, March 18, 6:30–9 p.m., participants will connect with city staff and officials and learn more about long-term planning efforts, day-to-day operations, and the opportunities for civic involvement. Graduates from 2018 and 2019 are currently serving as elected and appointed officials on the City Council and advisory boards, participating in projects and programs of interest, and sharing what they learned with the community in their own way.

Space is limited, and there is a competitive application process. Applications to participate are due by 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. There are two components to the application process. All applicants must complete and submit a short online form. The second step is an optional photo scavenger hunt. Details and additional submission information are available on the A2CA website. The two components may be completed at different times.
