It’s almost the time of year for our annual A2ZERO Spring FreeTree Giveaway! This year, the Giveaway will be taking place across two days and at three sites:
-
Saturday, April 27th, from 10 am-3 pm at Leslie Science and Nature Center (1831 Traver Rd)
-
Sunday, April 28th, from 10 am-5:30 pm at Tappan Middle School (2251 E Stadium Blvd) and Clague Middle School (2616 Nixon Rd)
A2ZERO is seeking volunteers to help us run all three of these events! We will need check-in volunteers to greet folks as they arrive to get their trees, check them in on our registrant list, and ask them which species they are interested in taking home. We will also need tree crew volunteers to grab seedlings of the correct species, wrap the roots in a damp paper towel, and hand the trees off to folks in their vehicles.
These events will all take place outdoors, rain or shine. The trees are light, but bending and lifting will be required. Snacks and drinks will be provided to all volunteers. As you know, bathrooms are unavailable at either Middle School site. Shifts will be 2.5-3 hours long.
