CAC Completes Grant Reviews

Our Club’s Community Allocations Committee (CAC) wrapped up this year’s annual “Helping Kids Succeed” grant requests. CAC received over 50 proposals requesting over $185,000 in funding. Fifteen of the proposals were first time grant requests. CAC members went through a rigorous review of each propsal leading to a list of the top rated grants. The final list is being forward to the Club’s Board for their ratification.

The Grant Program provides financial support to non-profit organizations that help kids succeed in Washtenaw County. The target population includes children from infancy through 18 years of age. Each proposal is evaluated based on the following specific grant program goals:

1. Supporting children’s educational and social development.
2. Helping children build skills necessary for success later in life.
3. Providing support services for at-risk children.

The Club’s annual Community Service Assessment (CSA) and our Golf and Pickleball Outing, fund the grants.

A club-wide recognition event for this year’s recipients will be scheduled for either late May or early June. Look for the announcement and join-in to hear the important work these agencies are doing to make our community better.

CAC is led by co-Chairs Marsha Chamberlain and Carolina Typaldos.
