Rotarians Fight Blight on I-94

On Saturday, September 27, Fifteen Rotarians gathered early in the morning and took action for our local environment. As a part of the State of Michigan’s Adopt-A-Highway Program, the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor sponsors a section of I-94 between State St. and Platt Rd, and we conduct a semi-annual cleanup. This time we were joined by three Rotaractors from the UM Club, and 1 guest. Nineteen people in all collected 69 bags of trash from the side of I-94, in addition to several large items that don’t fit in the bags. After a full morning trash collection, we all enjoyed a box lunch from the Relish restaurant at the Kensington Hotel on State St., and shared stories from the road.
The next Adopt-A-Highway pickup event will be scheduled for April 2026.
