Kristin Giant
Kristin Giant recently arrived from Ft. Wayne, IN with her family. Here’s a bit about her – you know, all that jazz…(That’s a clue.)
Kristin is professionally trained as an attorney, and she has applied her skills across the private, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors. As the founder and CEO of Hyper Local Impact, she created a donor-advised fund dedicated to investing in Black-owned businesses, raising and deploying over $1 million in funding and activating over 1,200 volunteers. She taught college-level financial literacy and entrepreneurship curricula for a new STEAM high school model. She now serves as the Executive Director of Children’s Literacy Network where she is thrilled to continue advancing equity in education. Kristin’s charitable work includes organizing city-wide coalition building efforts for racial justice, leading volunteer-driven fundraising campaigns, and providing pro bono legal and consulting services to nonprofits and small businesses. I don’t know how she’s done all this in her young life, but I don’t think we need to make her “take the stand” or do the “cell block tango” to determine if it’s the truth.
Kristin is married to Joe Giant, A2’s new Director of Economic Development. (He’s no “Mr. Cellophane.”) They have three children – Miles (age 8), Frankie (age 6), and Annabelle (18 months) – you know “when you’re good to Mama, Mama’s good to you…” Given that Joe is an accomplished pianist, and Kristin’s undergraduate degree is in Music Theory and Composition – they sing a lot of showtunes in their home.
Kristin is interested in fundraising, volunteering, and promoting Rotary to the younger generations, but you know, she “can’t do it alone.” Collyer and I think she’s going to “razzle dazzle” us all and do more than just “a little bit of good.”
Have you followed along – because now you “know a girl” Did you get “all that jazz?” Fun fact – Kristin starred as the notorious Velma Kelly in the Indiana Musical Theater Foundation 2024 production of Chicago!
