Cocktails Among the Christmas Trees Rounds Out Successful GPO

The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor “Cocktails Among the Chrtistmas Trees” event was a great success!  Hosted by Bob and Victoria Buckler at their beautiful home, this was the final component of our annual fundraiser, the Golf and Pickleball Outing which supports NOT the Club operating budget, but our outreach to the community.  Here are some examples of the work we have been able to do:

  • creating personal care packages for Veterans this holiday season
  • packing over 30,000 meals to support families locally and internationally this fall
  • providing nearly 100,000 meals through Food Gatherers this summer
  • Supporting local non-profits with nearly $70,000 this year and three quarters of a million dollars over the past 20 years all with the theme “Helping Kids Succeed”.
  • Providing free income tax assistance to over 600 people in need this year
  • Cleaning up our highways around Ann Arbor
  • Mentoring and scholarships through our STRIVE program
  • Planting trees near Bryant Park
  • Installing solar power to remote communities in Guatemala.
  • Supporting anti-racism initiatives here in Ann Arbor
  • Support for youth affected by the war in Ukraine.
  • Helping to eradicate polio in the world.

Many thanks to Bob and Victoria for hosting this great event.
