The Board of Director’s Meeting was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. On the final day of the month of September our club had 225 Active Members. Attendance for September’s three meetings was 26% (up 2% from last month). Average attendance at each meeting was 59 members and 3 guests. Our Engagement Ratio for the month was 46% (down 10% from last month.) Discussion for the board included approval of one individual for Club Membership: Ugur Cetin. Earlier in the month, the board also approved the transfer of David Gunstrom into RCAA membership from the Dexter club.
Our club financial highlights include Foundation total assets of $2,342,285.31 and Club Operations balance of $18, 737.26.
The board discussed getting some help for Emily Olson, our Administrator/Financial Manager, as she constantly works on a large load for just one person to handle. In the recent month alone, she has successfully migrated club and foundation financials to QuickBooks Online, created an online New Member Welcome Packet, created a website and landing page for the Polio Campaign, completed quarterly financials, submitted year-end financials to the accounting firm, continues to work on GTO financials and wrap-up of GTO and continues to refine many club processes.
The board heard from Greg Stejskal regarding last month’s GTO event. A full debrief will occur soon but Greg stressed how important it is for the board and all of club membership to continue to support our largest fundraiser. The 2023 date has been set and will be announced soon with a venue change. We will return to our original timing of the outing and dinner – all of which we hope will increase attendance and support.
Collyer Smith spoke to the board about his plans for next year as District Governor. He is excited to focus on increasing net membership by both bringing in new members and retaining the ones we already have. He will also be concentrating efforts on youth services during his tenure. His first big event, “Meet the Governor,” will be held on July 13, 2023, in Ann Arbor at the Jack Roth Stadium.
Don’t forget about our SEND HUNGER PACKING Event on Saturday, November 5th. We still need volunteers and funds to make this a successful event. Our goal is 150 volunteers and donations totaling $10,500 in order to pack 30,000 meals in just 90 minutes! You can sign up to volunteer and/or donate here.
