The Rotary Learning Center – A Valuable Resource

On April 21, John White took advantage of his My Rotary account to attend a webinar on the features and use of the RI Learning Center.* He was among over 5000 attendees.

The instructor presented a wide range of resources available at the click of a mouse button.  There are about two dozen modules covering:

  • Basic information on Rotary, The Rotary Foundation, and Areas of Focus
  • Leadership training for individual club officers and other officials (no more printed manuals)
  • Tips and best practices for membership development, engagement and retention
  • Guidelines for DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), awards, protecting youth, addressing harassment, and safeguarding personal data
  • Training in public image, grants management, service projects, and scholarships
  • E-learning in mentoring, leading change, and understanding conflict
  • Professional development such as facilitation and how to host a virtual meeting

The modules range from 15 minutes to several hours. They allow feedback to the staff, offer opportunities to download relevant documents and suggest the next steps in your educational journey. Another motivating feature is that you can download a “certificate of completion” that might even be used for an attendance credit!

  • Your own record of giving to The Rotary Foundation
  • Rotary Brand Center (templates, images, logos, and guidelines)
  • Rotary Showcase (reports on successful and noteworthy projects)
  • Rotary Ideas (possible projects seeking collaborators)
  • Discussion Groups (share your thoughts and learn from others on specific topics, e.g., Membership Best Practices with 4840 members!)
  • Rotary Global Rewards (affinity discounts)
  • Official Rotary Apps like Club Locator, Global Rewards, and even Virtual Reality!
