Meeting Notes for December 4, 2024: Annual Meeting

Peg Talburtt delivered the inspiration for our annual meeting.

President Joyce called the meeting to order at 12:30 pm, and after the patriotic song, Peg Taburtt delivered the inspiration and Shelley McMillan led us in song, accompanied by Jody Tull.

Among our guests today was Mike Danielson, son of Millie Danielson. Mike thanked the club, noting that it meant a great deal to his mother. He especially thanked Joanne Pierson for representing Rotary at the at the service and her remembrance of Millie.

President Joyce then thanked the meeting team:

  • Rob Schiff, meeting coordinator
  • Tucker Rossmaessler, tech support
  • Dennis Burke, setup and takedown
  • Tom Millard and Norman Herbert, mic runners
  • Rosemary Rowney and Norman Herbert, greeters
  • Melissa Foster Attendance
  • Mary Steffek Blaske, photographer
  • Michelle Julet, reporter

She also thanked the Program Committee for setting up the meeting at Zingerman’s and the committee that coordinated our effort for Send Hunger Packing.

New Members

Three new members were introduced at the meeting:

  • Bob Harrington, sponsor: Leo Shedden
  • Fernando Leon, sponsored by Bob Mull
  • Soo K. Eaker, sponsored by Kate Van Horn

Annual Meeting

Kathy Waugh announced the nominees for next year’s officer and board of directors.

Kathy Waugh then took the podium and announced the slate of speaker for the 2025-2026 Rotary year, including:

  • President Dawn Johnson,
  • Immediate past president, Joyce Hunter,
  • President-Elect Roy More
  • Treasurer Bill McPherson
  • Secretary, Kathy Waugh

New Directors to serve two year terms beginning July 2025 include:

  • Director of Community Service Susan Shipman
  • Director of Club Service Larry Gray
  • Director of Youth Development, Barbara Dawes

Kathy then called for nominations from the floor, and there being none, declared the nominations closed.
