From the Desk of Lori Walters, our Executive Director

Polar Vortex? What Polar Vortex?

Clearly the new Executive Director has a thing or two to learn about the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor Membership! While teetering on the edge of meeting cancellation Tuesday, above mentioned Executive Director thought, “we’ll be lucky if 25 folks show up.” Well, boy was she wrong! Despite wind-chills of close to -20 below 0◦, 66 members and 4 guests braved the elements to attend the meeting. And then to prove further defiance of the weather, the gang burst out in song with “Let It Snow”and “Winter Wonderland.” A hardy bunch indeed! January meetings proved that RCAA is engaged, ready to mingle, learn, and help the group prosper despite the Black Bean Soup which seems wildly unpopular (though one former President loves and raves to Black Bean Soup). Thanks very much for members who brought guests, 10 of whom have asked to be educated about the wonderful treasures Rotary has to offer. January meetings overall had whopping engagement ratio of 59%! Gold stars to 25 members who had perfect attendance, and super-star status awards for 3 members who attended all 5 meetings which included Glacier Hills.
