The United States Air Force’s role in maintaining world peace is a dynamic process which changes constantly as international geopolitics keep changing. Colonel Buchanan will talk about air power in Afghanistan and how it keeps changing to meet current threats.

Col. Buchanan has an MBA and is a graduate of the Air War College. As a pilot, he has had 4 deployments to Iraq, 1 to Central Africa, and 2 to Afghanistan, the last one as mission commander. He has flown C-130, C-17, along with other aircraft as an instructor pilot. His specialty is aerial refueling. Aerial refueling is essential to maintaining a global peace-making capability.
