This outstanding meeting, attended by 91 enthusiastic members and guests, began with a welcome by President Dawn and an inspirational speech by Brandon Black about “The soundtrack of your life” and how music has played a role in various life chapters. Brandon quoted Albert Einstein and Plato to emphasize the importance of music. Jim Erwin then led those assembled in Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

- Kathy Waugh announced the nomination of Sarah Maddock as the director of public image, with the nomination to be voted on at a future meeting.
Strive Program Graduates
Sarah Maddock then presented the STRIVE program, recognizing high school seniors who participated in the program and their families. The award winners, who will receive scholarships to Washtenaw Community College, are Makai Carter-Brain, Thomas Harrison, Justice Gray, Renia Johnsonstein, Bryce Johnson, and Lily Rodifer. Sarah emphasized that they will always be an important part of our Rotary Club and that we want to hear about their continued progress.

Rhythm Rats Jazz Orchestra
This outstanding orchestra from Huron High School, ranked in the top 10 in the U.S., presented music by Duke Ellington and others. An additional treat was Sean Dobbins, professor of music in jazz studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, who subbed as their drummer. At the conclusion, they received an enthusiastic standing ovation.
