In a previous article, you learned about how zones fit into the Rotary organization chart and how each pair within the 34 zones supplies a member to the RI Board of Directors for a two-year term. You also learned that our Zone 28 and adjacent Zone 32 combine to cover most of Canada, a number of states in northern and northeast US and even Bermuda and two small French islands. What’s probably new to you in this issue is the identity of our 2018-2020 RI board member.
He is Jeffry Cadorette. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Media PA. His professional career started with physical therapy but he is now active in commercial real estate. A Rotarian since 1977, Jeff has served Rotary as a committee member, Council on Legislation representative, international training leader, seminar trainer, and president’s representative. He was worldwide coordinator of Rotary Foundation alumni coordinators in 2010-11. Jeff is also a Foundation Benefactor and Major Donor and has received the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service, the Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award, and the Service Above Self Award.Jeff’s term is up at the end of this Rotary year. He will be succeeded by Valarie Wafer from the Rotary Club of Collingwood, Ontario. She will be one of five women serving on the 2020-2022 RI Board of Directors. More on her in a future Harpoon.
