The board heard a presentation by Downs Herold and Tom Millard to establish a new committee for the club dedicated to “History and Archives.” The driver for this committee was a visit to the archives and the realization that nothing has been added since 2008. It is also helpful that the director of the Bentley Historical Library is now a club member. A motion was made to approve the new History and Archives Committee.
This led to a discussion about our limited resources and the assurance that we can cover any new committees. In general, we have too many committees for the current size of our club. The upcoming strategic plan will address this issue with some possible reorganization.
The District Conference is coming up in May in Ann Arbor! There’s an early bird special if you register by March 31. One board member has offered to sponsor any club member who would like to attend but feels costs are prohibitive. Contact John Sepp for details.
The Hybrid Meeting Tech Team is still in need of a 2nd computer to run our weekly business meetings. A PC or Mac with a USB port is necessary. They are looking for anyone in the club who might be willing to donate a usable laptop. Please contact Linda Kentes or Rob Shiff.
Doug Ziesemer proposed offering Corporate Memberships. The Membership Committee has discussed this proposal for two meetings and designated Doug Ziesemer, John White, and other interested members to bring back a recommendation of what that would look like for our club.
