Summary of the January 20 Board Meeting

The Board of Director’s Meeting was held on Wednesday, January 20 via Zoom. Club membership on December 31 was 254 Active members, plus six Honorary members and seven Inactive Emeriti. Attendance for the month’s three meetings was 38%. Average attendance at each meeting was 97 members plus 25 others. Our Engagement Ratio for the month was 53%. The Board unanimously approved the nomination of new member Pattie Katcher and transfer of Kimberley Krahn from the Del Norte club in Colorado.

The Operating Fund Balance on December was $101,805. The Club’s Endowment Investment market value was $2,744,277, a 5% increase from November 30. It was noted that the Foundation Trustees Subcommittee is looking for someone to fill the vacant spot left by Dave Shotwell when he resigns. Dave and his family have relocated to Cheboygan, Michigan.

The Pandemic Response Fund Committee met on January 19 for a final meeting and approved the disbursement of remaining funds as follows: $5,308 was awarded to the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County to support their efforts to operate four shelters and observe COVID-19 precautions. $3,000 was awarded to SafeHouse Center to support their efforts to serve increased numbers of clients who sought assistance after the lockdown in the Spring of 2020. The Committee thanked the RCAA Board of Directors and our generous members who supported the Pandemic Response Fund which disbursed a total of $62,000 to community organizations. President Joanne reported that the Presidents of local Washtenaw County clubs have been meeting for the purpose of coordinating a county wide Rotary Club project that would include all Rotarians. If you have an idea for a project email Joanne with your suggestions.
