On the final day of January, our club had 213 Active Members. Attendance for January’s meetings was 32% (down 2% from last month). The average attendance at each meeting was 69 members and 5 guests. Our Engagement Ratio for the month was 54% (up 1% from last month).
This month’s membership saw two terminations: Fred Beutler converted to Inactive Emeritus status (for health reasons), and Cheryl Zwyer resigned due to Business Transfer. We did not receive any new members in January; however, our new Club Executive Administrator, Cat Meyer, began employment on January 22, 2024.
Our club financial highlights include Foundation total assets of $2,913,788.14.and Club operating cash balance of $71,026.53.
We still have 11 people who are delinquent in making their CSA Payments. The board continues to contact individuals to expedite these delinquent payments.
The budget for 2024-2025 will begin in earnest soon. All Club Directors will be contacting their committees to: 1) get any outstanding receipts in before June 30th and 2) submit their estimated budgets for the 24-25 year. Hybrid Meeting expenses will be included in the upcoming budget.
Due to our financially successful GPO event in 2023, we have an allocation of 2023 revenue in the Foundation financials. When adopting the Community Service Budget last spring, the assumption was that the GPO revenues would be $80,000 and the expenses $26, 059, and therefore, the club budgeted net income of $53,941. Fortunately, the results were much higher than expected. The board moved and unanimously approved to use the 2023 GPO Allocation of Revenue– including to support Rotaract ($1,700), IHPC ($2,000), Increase to Community Allocations ($1,059), VITA ($750) and hold $8,000 for a possible A2 Bicentennial Project.
The Hybrid Meeting Tech Team needs a 2nd computer to run our weekly business meetings. A PC or Mac with a USB port is necessary. They are looking for anyone in the club who might be willing to donate a usable laptop. Please contact Linda Kentes or Rob Shiff if you have one you can offer.
Sam Kottamatsu provided a presentation on a Yoga Retreat Concept he has successfully held in his previous Rotary Club in Saginaw. This 2-day retreat would focus on a variety of therapies for body health and prevention of disease. The retreat is planned for this August. The board approved the concept, allowing Sam to continue developing plans. More information will be forthcoming.
