Membership Updates

  • We’ve had fewer resignations this year compared to last year.
  • An ad has been placed in the Kerrytown Concert House last year (Barbara paid for this last year). She is suggesting that we place an ad for the entire season this year, which would cost around $400. Dawn would like to look at the budget prior to committing but it looks possible.
  • The board voted in two new member members
    • Dana Fair (Sponsor: Norman Herbert)
    • Rona Hu (Sponsors: Joanne Pierson, Downs Herold and John White)

Treasury Update

Our club financial highlights include Foundation total assets of $3,592,437.07 and Club operating cash balance of $125,513.19. As of this writing, there are 9 members who have not yet paid their dues.

PROPOSAL – Google for Nonprofits is free to 501c3 organizations

Daniel Earle presented his proposal for moving our Club to a new storage and communication platform. Google for Nonprofits (GfNP) is free to 501c3 organizations. Once connected, the biggest benefit to us would be Google Workspace for Nonprofits, and within that Shared Drives greatly improve our file storage organization by:

  • Using Shared Drives that belong to the team instead of any one individual
  • Creating, if needed, multiple Shared Drive to control access to sensitive data and documents
  • Giving us 100TB of storage (our Dropbox has 5TB, individual Google accounts have 15GB each)
  • And while this is not strictly a benefit we would get from Google, the opportunity to build a new filing system from the ground up that takes into consideration how we access files now, how we wish things could be improved, etc., is a tremendous opportunity.

President Updates

  • Dawn had an amazing time at the convention and was very inspired. She felt it was an honor to be there. She noted that there are 45,000 clubs that are around the world, and it was inspiring to be among them.
  • Our new “message” is called United for Good
  • Dawn is interested in locating leads for specific strategic action items. Several people have already expressed interest in several areas.
  • Dawn has created a flyer of our strategic plan and would like to finalize it with the board.
    • This will then be communicated everywhere
