On September 30 a group of 12 Rotarians gathered on a very foggy morning to collect trash along the I-94 freeway as part of the Michigan Adopt-A-Highway fall cleanup. The fog lifted into a beautiful morning the Road Waste Warriors went to work collecting 37 bags of trash between State St. and Platt Road. Included among the items collected: tires, bottles, the usual plastic containers, and an intact wallet. The morning completed with a box lunch at the Kensington Hotel on State Street and a bushel of delicious apples from Leo Shedden’s orchard. Special thanks to visiting Rotarian Mike Danielson from California helping to keep our Michigan freeways clear.
The next cleanup will be in April 2024, stay tuned for details of that event.
