Mark Valchine is the lead instructor in the Ann Arbor Student Building Industry Program. In this award winning program, Mark and his staff train students in the building trades by building a home in our area every year.

The Program was started in 1970 by a group of local business, labor, and school leaders who believed that students could build a quality home with proper supervision and instruction, and in the process, gain valuable experience and skills.

Directors on the program’s Board of Directors coordinate the financial and technical aspects of each project. The Ann Arbor Public Schools provides the instructor, students, and support for the program.
