For those of us who had the pleasure of hearing Ed Weir give a presentation about the Tiny Homes Community in Detroit, it truly was moving and inspiring to hear about this project. If you were not able to attend, please note the YouTube video below.
We have been in contact with Cass Community Services about the possibility of our club helping with a work day. As it turns out, they have a very immediate need for site cleanup on Saturday, March 24. What they need is the following:
- Yard/Tree/Branch cleanup, chipping and removal
- Construction site cleanup
- General garbage pickup and cleanup
This will be physical labor and given what we had this past week, who knows what the weather will be like!
All involved understand this is short notice but are hoping we can assemble a group of 25+ hearty souls that can truly make a difference for them. Specific timing will be determined but plan on meeting behind Sears at Briarwood Mall (former location of Touch A Truck) in Ann Arbor to carpool at 8:00 a.m. to be on site by 9. We will work for 3-4 hours and then return. It is very acceptable to invite others who may be willing and able to help.
