Rotarians Help Veterans During Holidays

Rotarians, including Leo Shedden and Don Deatrick, delivering personal hygiene kits to veterans with individuals from Thomson Reuters.

Rotarians and individuals from Thomson Reuters partnered up to prepare and deliver personal hygiene kits to 114 veterans at the Veterans Affairs hospital, Ann Arbor. The Rotarians joining the team, including including Leo Shedden and Don Deatrick, distributed the kits to veterans, wishing them happy holidays and also taking time to chat with them. Many big happy smiles and “thank yous” were received.

The hospital doctors and nurses also reached out to us saying the veterans greatly appreciated the gifts and our being there to talk and share a several minutes with with the vets. This is the second year Rotarians visited with veterans at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System gifting personal hygiene kits to over a hundred Veterans each year. Members of Rotary Club of Ann Arbor and Livonia Rotary Club and Thomson Reuters donated the many personal hygiene items including: combs, tooth brushes, cross word puzzle books, pens, a blanket, kleenex packets, chap sticks, and several other items. Thank you for helping with this important project.
