Update on Ghana Project

by Paul Smith

When the International Humanitarian Projects Committee let it be known a project to upgrade an orphanage in Kumasi, Ghana could not be completed because the existing building had so deteriorated it had to be razed and rebuilt,  Ann Arbor Rotarians came forward.  Ian Bund challenged us with a matching grant.  If we raised $5000 he would match it with $2500.  It is with considerable pride I report YOU donated $5258.60, exceeding our goal.  Donations came from 24 Rotarians and non-members and one family foundation.  The total of $7500+ will allow completion of the structure, purchase of desks and computers and digging of a well for safe water.  You are to be commended.  Thank you from the IHPC!
