Summary of the January 17, 2018 Board of Directors Meeting

The Board of Director’s Meeting was held Wednesday, January 17, 2017 at the United Way Building. President John called the meeting to order and motions were made and approved to accept the Agenda and December Minutes.

The Club’s membership on December was 306 Active Members plus six Honorary members and seven Inactive Emeriti. The Club’s average attendance in December was 36% for three meetings. The average attendance for the luncheons was 98 members plus 13 others. Our engagement ratio was 52%. The ratio is based on the proportion of our active members earning at least one attendance credit during the month. On December 31, the Operating Fund Balance was $66,932.05. The Club’s Endowment Investment market value was $2,094,191.93.

Director Reports

  1. The Community Allocations Committee has sent out the RFP for this year’s grant cycle with a deadline for applications due 2/25. The Rotary Fights Hunger Committee had its Orientation last week. Contact Todd Kephart if you want to volunteer for this year’s drive. The GTO will be on 9/10 at Travis Pointe.
  2. IHPC has a small balance to spend on additional projects this year. This month’s Membership Committee was chaired by Interim Chair Downs Herold. The next New Member Orientation is 3/14 with nomination forms due to the Committee by 2/7.
  3. The Peace Conference surplus funds have been awarded as follows: $15,000 to Peace in the Streets, $1,000 to Peace Scholar Leadership Training in Findley, OH, $3,000 to Chicago Spring Conference and $15,000 to Peace Jam.
  4. The new website is up and running. Check it out at a2rotary.org. The former website will remain on line for archival purposes.

President’s Comments

We are at the mid year point and in keeping with President John’s theme to “Reset and Re-engage” he summarized what we have accomplished and what we still hope to accomplish.
