Road Waste Warriors Take Out The Trash

Rotary Road Waste Warriors were once again smiled upon by Señor sol for the State of Michigan Adopt-A-Highway fall trash pick up. Pictured above are members of the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor and UM Rotaractors who joined forces on Saturday, October 2, to attack highway blight on I-94. The road waste warriors, identified by clever name tags courtesy of John White, picked up trash at the same break-neck speed as the metal hulks hurtling past them on the highway. The attack on roadway blight resulted in the collection of 58 bags of trash, assorted car parts, hubcaps, pieces of tires, numerous masks, articles of clothing, an iPhone, credit card, large steak knife, saw blade, one filthy Grinch, and a suspected meth lab waste dump that was reported to authorities. After a short debriefing back at the Kensington Hotel parking lot, a complimentary box lunch and Rotary socializing was enjoyed by all.

An expression of heartfelt gratitude to those listed below who lived up to Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” and helped contribute to the successful day.
