Peace Conference outcomes keep building!  Rev. Faith Fowler from Cass Community Services spoke on the Tiny House project and met Ann Arbor Rotarian and architect, Ed Wier.  Faith needed a design for a Victorian tiny house and a match was made.  See the story, Detroit’s tiny houses give residents a home to rebuild their lives.

FUTURE PEACE EVENTS

  • “Peace in the Streets” Conference – April 20-21, 2018 – Wayne State University
Detroit, MIPeace in the Streets is a two day conference, April 20-21, 2018 to be held on the campus of Wayne State University as a follow-on to the World Peace Conference 2017. The Detroit Rotary Club, in partnership with the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at WSU, has invited noted experts to present their insights into three key areas: Peace in the Hood, Peace in the Home and Peace in the Schools. Important dialogue with youth is built into the program. The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor is co-sponsor of the conference.  Violence in our communities has become a pressing concern for young and old alike. That message was brought out loud and clear by the high school and college age students who attended last spring’s peace conference in Ann Arbor. The youth in attendance appreciated hearing about the root causes, consequences and potential remedies for international and civil wars, but also alerted the organizers that the one thing they missed, and that has deep and close-up personal meaning for their lives is “Peace in the Streets”. This conference is intended for high school and college age students – and those adults who care about them.  For more information contact: Fred Pearson  ab3440@wayne.edu
