Harpoon for the week of September 10, 2018

Weekly Meeting Statistics:
A total of 107 members were stirred by Arlene Golembiewski’s dedication to Sierra Leone. It was our biggest turnout since the first two meetings at Weber’s. We were joined by three visiting Rotarians (Cheryl Farmer of Ypsilanti, ADG Anne Nauts of Chelsea and Stephanie Toon of Chelsea) and seven guests. Before lunch, a total of 24 members met in three committees; International Humanitarian Projects, Rotaract and Social. On September 4, seven Rotarians of the Public Image Committee gathered to discuss the website and our recent survey.

This issue includes an article on Madison Vorva, Global Grant Scholar, by Ashish Sarkar. Collyer Smith also submitted two articles; one he wrote on new member Lauren Heinonen and the other written by Paul Smith on the work of our club’s International Humanitarian Projects Committee. Other articles document the activities and events of other clubs in the District and publicize the dates of upcoming district-level events such as the Foundation Gala and the District Conference.
