Rotarians @ Glacier Hills

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE LATER FOR ANY UPDATES.

Since April of 2016, there have been regular meetings for our Club members who now reside at the Glacier Hills Senior Living Community in Ann Arbor, MI. These meetings take place on the third Friday of the month except for July, August and December. The doors open at 9:45am for coffee, cookies and chat time, and the meeting runs from 10-11am. There is always an update on the happenings of our Club and that of Rotary International, plus a featured speaker. Often special presentations such as an Emeritus Award occur at these meetings too. Club members are invited to attend and there is a regular “crew” of members who help plan and run the meetings.

Rotarian’s @ Glacier Hills started as an idea of Past President, Ashish Sarkar, who noticed that many Club members who were active contributors to, and in, the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor were finding it increasingly difficult to make it to downtown Ann Arbor for weekly meetings. Due to the fact that over over 15 RCAA members happened to live at Glacier Hills, it was decided to launch a “pilot” program to see what the interest and participation level might be.

Ray Rabidoux, then President/CEO of Glacier Hills and Club member thought it a great idea to test and approved hosting the gathering on the Glacier Hills campus. With ongoing support from Club members and staff at Glacier Hills, the program has moved from “pilot-to-permanent” status based on its success. Key in the planning are Burt Voss, Glacier Hills’ resident, and Becky Pazkowski, Executive Director, Glacier Hills Foundation. Both are current and longtime members of our Club.
