Board approves new humanitarian service award

The Board of Director’s Meeting was held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the United Way Building.

The Club’s membership on November 30 was 313 Active Members plus six Honorary members and seven Inactive Emeriti. The Club’s average attendance in November was 41% for five meetings. The average attendance for the luncheons was 107 members plus 11 others. Our engagement ratio was 67%. The ratio is based on the proportion of our active members earning at least one attendance credit during the month. On November 30, the Operating Fund Balance was $71,732.33. The Club’s Endowment Investment market value was $2,071,029.19.

DIRECTOR REPORTS: 1) The Community Allocations Committee will sent out the 2018 RFP in early January. Rotary Fights Hunger Committee is ramping up for its annual food drive. 2) Three of the IHPC grants were approved; the Rotaract project in Honduras, a technology education project in Guatemala and rainwater harvesting in Mexico. 3) A Youth Conference was held on November 11. Both Huron High and Pioneer High Interact Clubs received a Presidential Citation. 4) The new website was launched on November 20. HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AWARD: The Board approved the establishment of the Robert S. Northrup Humanitarian Service Award. The Recipient of the Award need not be a Rotarian but will be a resident of the Greater Ann Arbor or Southeast Michigan communities.
