Weekly Meeting Statistics:
A total of 106 members were informed by Heather Thompson’s presentation on the Attica Prison Riot of 1971. We had one Visiting Rotarian (Wei Yang “Willie” Li of San Juan PR) and one U-M Rotaractor (Cem “Jim” Sami). We also had five guests, including past club member John Rasmussen and Sara Taylor Eggleston. Sara’s great uncle was Herbert J. Taylor, the creator of the Four-Way Test! In conjunction with lunch, 26 members gathered for meetings of four committees; Membership, STRIVE, Peace and Program. Early in the day, 13 Rotarians participated in the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors. On Friday, September 14, three members met for lunch as part of a discussion between club presidents in Sectors 11 and 12 of our district.
Makeup Cards for Roving Rotarians:
Brandon Black attended the meeting of the Brighton Club on September 18. Doug Moffat, a former member of our club but now in Brighton, hosted Brandon and sends his best wishes.
DACdb Club Welcoming New Members:
DACdb is our new membership management database. It is an exceptionally capable cloud-based product. Each member will soon be getting their own account. John White is forming a user group to meet informally just before each week’s luncheon meeting. This will be a forum for early adopters to share what they have learned and learn by what others have to share. Please contact John to sign up for your account or just see him before each Wednesday luncheon.
